Welcome & Introduction

Ken Brotherston, Managing Director, Talent Intelligence Partners

Diversity & Inclusion Fatigue: Have we reached a brick wall?

Shereen Daniels, Head of HR, Caffè Nero

  • Shifting the focus from inclusion being something to be “achieved” and instead make it “the way”
  • The overlap of inclusion and belonging (it’s a good thing!)
  • How we can get to a place where our people are connected, energised and resilient.

Shereen is the Head of HR for Caffè Nero, responsible for UK store and head office operations for over 5,000 employees.Used to occupying both generalist and specialist roles, she has a range of HR knowledge gained from working in a variety of industries - international risk management, publishing, retail and hospitality and has a MSc in International HR tucked away nicely in her back pocket. Her key interests are in HR strategy, organisational design and how organisations can support the fulfilment of human ambition through innovative yet common sense approaches to attracting, retaining and inspiring people to achieve. Shereen is also a mum to 9 year old Tia, an amateur Crossfit athlete and part time writer.

The HR Tech Delusion

Roger Philby, Founder, The Chemistry Group

  • Billions is being spent on HR and the technology is more advanced than ever, but workforce productivity is at its most static in recent history.
  • Is new technology accounting for the ever-evolving ways in which we are working? And though it provides the data, are we using it properly?
  • Does HR Tech simply mean we are making the same old mistakes - just more quickly?

Roger Philby has spent the past twenty-five years dedicated to creating brilliant careers, to create brilliant organisations. Today, valuable talent is being wasted due to poor decisions, based on uninformed, inconsistent and biased information. As a result, talent is not being accurately identified and not being connected to the right opportunity; limiting the potential of people and holding back organisations. Roger is obsessed with putting this right. Roger has created innovative and award-winning approaches to how some of the world’s largest companies recruit and develop their workforces, including Accenture, Experian, the NHS, SAP and House of Fraser. He was also part of “the biggest turnaround in UK business history”, running recruitment for Energis Communications.

Masterclass Discussion (1)

The first of our Masterclass Discussion Groups around the cabaret table you are sat at from the beginning of the event.

Innovation Spotlights: Beamery & TheJobPost

Each of the 2 Innovators has 10 minutes and follows the same agenda:
What problem are you trying to solve? Tell us how you solve it - we want the proof! Validation

Treating Candidates like Customers
The most successful organizations build awareness and relationships with candidates long before the application. Beamery is the only Recruitment CRM & Marketing Platform that helps you attract, initiate and nurture those relationships effectively and turn passive candidates into enthusiastic applicants
Tom Maynard, Account Director, Beamery

Next generation supply chain
The way employers work with recruitment agencies is radically changing.  The era of static Preferred Supplier Lists (PSL’s) is over. Talent acquisition teams want to focus on direct recruitment and only use recruitment agencies for specialist roles. This means building agile agency supply chains where they can find and contract with the best agency consultants quickly and easily. We will explore how innovative talent acquisition teams are leveraging platforms and data to build, engage and manage their high-performing recruitment agency supply chain.
Howard Flint, Advisor, TheJobPost
